About Ramble Speech Therapy

Mary Blakely Barr

M.S. CCC-SLP

Owner, Speech Language Pathologist

I am a speech-language pathologist holding my Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), and I am licensed in the state of New Hampshire and Vermont.

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Central Florida and my Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Tennessee. Prior to founding Ramble Speech Therapy, I gained clinical experience across a variety of settings including school systems, private practices, outpatient clinics, post-acute hospital care, and university clinics.

I continue to deepen my expertise through advanced continuing education and specialized training focused on speech sound disorders and motor speech disorders.

More personally…

When I’m not in sessions, you’ll usually find me at home with my two cats, Ralph and Bloo, enjoying movie nights, cheering on the Eagles, planning trips to visit family, or exploring the Upper Valley.

One of my favorite children’s books is Oh, the Places You’ll Go! — a story that beautifully captures the growth, resilience, and possibility I see in the children I work with every day.

  • Ramble

At Ramble Speech Therapy, I believe every child deserves to be understood — and every family deserves support that feels personal, compassionate, and grounded in expertise.

I created this practice to offer something different from fast-paced, high-volume therapy settings: a calm, relationship-centered space where children can build confidence, skills, and joy in communication at their own pace.

Ramble Speech Therapy is a private, boutique-style practice serving the Upper Valley area of Vermont and New Hampshire, specializing in the evaluation and treatment of pediatric speech sound and motor speech disorders, including childhood apraxia of speech, phonological disorders, and articulation differences.

My goal is not just clearer speech — it’s helping children feel heard, capable, and proud of their voices.

  • My Approach

Therapy at Ramble Speech Therapy is individualized, play-based when appropriate, and grounded in evidence-based practices.

I believe progress happens when children feel safe, supported, and understood — not rushed or pressured. Sessions are designed to be engaging, encouraging, and tailored to each child’s strengths, needs, and personality.

Families are an essential part of the process. I work closely with parents and caregivers so you feel informed, empowered, and confident supporting your child between sessions.

You’re looking for thoughtful, specialized support for your child’s speech sound or motor speech needs in a setting that feels calm, personal, and genuinely caring.

Whether your child is just beginning their communication journey or needs more targeted intervention, you don’t have to navigate it alone.

You’re in the right place if…
