FAQs
-
Do you accept insurance?
Ramble Speech Therapy is a private-pay practice and does not bill insurance directly.
However, a Superbill is provided for all services, which families may submit to their insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Coverage varies by plan, so I recommend contacting your insurance provider to learn about your specific benefits.
-
How do I get started?
The first step is a free 15-minute phone consultation to discuss your concerns, ask questions, and determine the best next steps for your child.
From there, we may schedule a screening consultation or a comprehensive evaluation depending on your child’s needs.
-
What ages do you work with?
I specialize in working with children and teens ages 2–18 with speech sound disorders and motor speech disorders, including:
Childhood Apraxia of Speech
Phonological disorders
Articulation delays
Children may be homeschooled, enrolled in public or private school, or not yet in school.
-
How often will my child need therapy?
Frequency is individualized based on your child’s needs, diagnosis, and goals. Many children benefit from consistent weekly sessions, especially when building new speech patterns and motor plans.
Recommendations will be discussed after the evaluation so we can create a plan that feels supportive and realistic for your family.
-
Do you collaborate with schools?
Yes. I currently provide services at the Upper Valley Waldorf School and am open to collaborating with other local schools that do not have a speech-language pathologist on staff.
With parent permission, I am happy to communicate with teachers and school teams to support carryover of skills across environments.
-
Do you offer virtual sessions?
Teletherapy is available on a case-by-case basis when appropriate for the child and goals.
Whenever possible, in-person sessions are encouraged, as they often allow for the most effective cueing, practice, and engagement — especially for younger children and motor speech work.
-
What if my child is shy or hesitant?
That’s completely okay — many children need time to feel comfortable in a new environment.
Sessions are designed to be playful, supportive, and relationship-focused. Building trust and confidence is always the first step before targeting speech goals.
-
How long will my child need therapy?
Every child’s journey is unique. Some children make rapid progress, while others benefit from longer-term support, especially for motor speech disorders.
My goal is always to provide the right amount of therapy — not more than necessary — while equipping families with strategies to support progress at home.
-
Can I stay during sessions?
Yes. Parent involvement is welcomed and encouraged, especially for younger children. Observing sessions can help you learn strategies to support your child’s communication between visits.
-
Do you have a preferred method of payment?
Payment is due the day of service. Cash or check is preferred, but I accept card or HSA/FSA, as well.
